These decorative waist beads feature an unbroken string of large colorful glass trade beads that accent feminine curves.
The traditional African accessory consists of small glass beads on a string or wire worn around the waist or hips. In Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, and other West African countries, they are a symbol of femininity, fertility, sensuality, and spiritual well-being.
Can be worn singly or in layers.
Sold as one single strand. Fits up to a 42” waist. String tied ends - no clasp.
Made in Ghana
To wear: Wrap your full strand of waist beads around your waist along your pants line (or however high up you want to wear the beads). Remove any additional beads by pulling them off the string. Tie 3-4 tight knots where the beads end. Cut close to the knot leaving 1/2cm or more then burn clipped ends with lighter. (Please be careful as you burn ends)
